The MittiMurti Verified Standard

We separate "eco claim" from "eco verification." Every listing on the platform discloses material, paint, decor, packaging, and immersion method — and sellers progress through four trust tiers backed by document checks and workshop visits.

Why this standard exists.

Broad marketplaces routinely label ceramic, polyresin, and even PoP idols as "eco-friendly." This is greenwashing. CPCB's 2020 Revised Guidelines ban PoP and recommend natural biodegradable materials. MittiMurti enforces those rules at the listing level.

Mandatory disclosure on every listing

Four badge tiers

  1. Vendor Declared — seller has self-disclosed material and process. Visible as a starting tier.
  2. Documents Submitted — seller has uploaded material certificates, paint composition, business documents, or local-license proof.
  3. Platform Verified — MittiMurti has reviewed documents, product proof, packaging proof, and sample listing details.
  4. Field Verified — MittiMurti or a partner has visited the workshop or collected third-party validation.

Prohibited materials and claims

How verification escalates

Sellers begin at Vendor Declared when they list. As they upload supporting documents and complete sample-order validation, they move to Documents Submitted and then Platform Verified. Field Verified is reserved for sellers we have visited or for whom we have collected third-party validation (NGO, municipal recognition, awards, certifications).

The transit-proof rule

Fragile idols need compliant packaging notes, a stated seller SLA, and a packing photo or video for higher-value orders. This protects buyers against damage and gives the platform a basis for refund and replacement.

If a seller breaks the rules

Sellers who attempt to label PoP, polyresin, or undisclosed-paint products as eco-friendly are removed from the platform. Repeated violations result in permanent removal and loss of any earned badges.
