Mumbai's eco-Ganpati ecosystem has grown faster than any other city in the country. BMC publishes a list of artificial ponds and mobile immersion vehicles in every ward each year. Eco-friendly home idols up to six feet are best immersed at home; idols above six feet should be coordinated with the local ward office.
Plaster of Paris idols are banned under CPCB's 2020 revised guidelines and restricted in Mumbai under court orders. Sellers attempting to label PoP as eco-friendly are removed from the platform.
